Please NOTE:  JOTT is now a paid service as of September 2008.  We still highly recommend it.  Right after it went paid on us, we sent the following article to our mailing list:

You probably noticed that our beloved JOTT service
at www.jott.com just exited “beta” and is now charging for
what we were enjoying for free.  What to do?

Here’s the deal.  According to their web site, there is still a
free option, but it’s really pared down from what it was.  There is
now a $3.95/month plan and a $12.95/month plan.

Here’s The Sermonators’ suggestion:  if you have enjoyed JOTT, go
with the $3.95 per month option.  Skip the free.  (The $12.95 is too
much unless you’re a “Crackberry” user.)

Two reasons to go with the paid option:

1. It’s cheap.  Be honest, you’ll never miss $4 each month and you
will continue to be able to capture those incredible illustrations
and reminders that come to your mind while you drive.

2. It’s improved.  Way improved.  They added features to justify
the price.  If you’re an Outlook user, check out how JOTT now
integrates with Outlook to post directly to your calendar, task
list and even create email drafts that are sitting there when you
get back to the office.  If you use other services such as 30
Boxes, Remember the Milk, I Want Sandy, or Google’s time management
tools, it’s all linked up.  Cool.

We all got spoiled on the free, but the paid is cheap, much better
and just plain worth it in our opinion.

We’re not affiliates or re-sellers.  We get nothing for making this
recommendation other than the satisfaction that we are helping you
to be more productive.  By the way, your church may cover this
expense in your expense package.  Thought of that?

BONUS TIP: Go over to JOTT and look at their list of premium links.
Check out some of the free services they integrate with such as I
Want Sandy.  You may just find a sweet new option that you didn’t
know about for kicking your productivity up a notch.

REMEMBER!  The beauty of all this is that is gets this stuff out of
your head.  “Your head is best for having ideas, not holding ideas.”

God bless you today!

Best,
Scott Newton Smith
